Mentally, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. So today I wanted to keep it short and beautifully sweet, and share with you - 3 effective yoga practices, derived and inspired by the Gitananda Yoga tradition, you can practise today to release, rejuvenate, and bloom into your full potential! -1. Pranamaya Kosha Cleansing with Nasarga Mukha Bhastrika Pranamaya kosha, or subtle energy body, is our energetic layer located around the physical body. Cleansing with a ‘gathering up and letting go’ movement and breath around the body helps us intentionally clear blockages, keeps the prana (energy) flowing, and keeps the mind and body well in integrity, health, and vitality. Nasarga Mukha Bhastrika is a forceful expulsion of the breath through the mouth, accompanying different movements to relieve pent up stress. Take up a comfortable standing position and really shake out your hands, letting go tension. Move your hands around each part of your body, like you’re gathering up stress, tension, sluggishness from the body (+ the mind). Breathe in and catch hold of the tension in your fist. With a powerful blast through the mouth 'whoosh' it away! Throw it all out! Use your diaphragm muscles with the blasting out. Repeat 3 or 6 times. Relax in your standing position and enjoy the feeling of relief and cleansing that flows from head to toe. 2. Meru Asana Eka Pada | Mountain Pose 1 Footed Root your hands and sole of your left foot down into the earth from Meru Asana. Reach your right foot sky high as you feel the sun's warmth melt the snow from the top of your mountain. Pause into the posture, breathe in the renewed sense of Springtime energy with 3 deep breaths, feeling it cleanse you all the way from foot to the top of head. Lower the right, and repeat with the left foot. *Optional 3 rounds Mukha Bhastrika breath from Meru Asana Eka Pada for an enhanced state of cleansing, energising and detoxifying the whole system Benefits:
